About the experience:
Step into a hands-on food journey at J.I.A.K 99, where you and your kids can explore Singapore’s rich hawker heritage in a fun and interactive way.
Begin with a 45–60 minute immersive experience through our favourite local foods. Through engaging displays and storytelling, families discover how different cultures shaped the dishes we grow up loving — from ingredients and cooking styles to the traditions behind every bite. You’ll also create your own fresh jasmine wrist garland to bring home as a meaningful keepsake.
Next, roll up your sleeves and make your own Muah Chee together — knead, stretch, shape and coat it generously in peanut and sugar. Enjoy it fresh and warm, or pack it home to savour later.
Gather around to sample local favourites served in a customised tingkat (tiffin carrier), including traditional kuehs and nasi lemak. While parents enjoy the flavours, kids can have a blast at the life-size giant ice kachang slide with a ball pit — definitely a highlight for little ones.
To round off the experience, spend some relaxed family time creating sand art. Play with bright, colourful sand and design an artwork together to take home.
✨ Enjoy a FREE drink with your local bites when you book through Kloop.
Learning highlights:
Through this experience, children gain a deeper understanding of Singapore’s food heritage and how different communities shaped the hawker dishes we enjoy today. They learn that food is more than a meal and that it reflects culture, history and shared identity.
By exploring four cultures and their traditions, your kids will develop greater appreciation for diversity and how different ingredients and cooking styles come together to form uniquely Singaporean flavours. This hands-on experience encourages sensory exploration and curiosity, while reinforcing meaningful family bonding.
