About the experience:

This beginner-friendly sewing workshop introduces kids to the fundamentals of machine sewing through guided, practical projects. They will learn how to set up and operate a domestic sewing machine, use basic sewing tools and develop proper stitching techniques.

Starting with a tissue pouch, kids will practice controlling the machine, keeping fabric aligned and following sewing lines. They will then apply these skills to create their choice of a Boxy Pencil Case, Slim Zipper Pouch or Boxy Sling Bag.

The workshop is designed to give kids a strong foundation in machine sewing while building confidence in using equipment, following a process and creating something from scratch.

Learning highlights:

Fine motor skills – Strengthen hand control and coordination through threading, guiding fabric and sewing.

Focus & precision – Practice maintaining alignment and paying attention to details while stitching.

Hand-eye coordination – Practice coordinating their movements as they operate the machine and position the fabric.
