About the experience
A fun and creative workshop by SmallGiant Music, where your child gets to paint their own ukulele and learn to play it. The session begins with your child decorating a ukulele using colourful paints, markers, and craft materials, with friendly instructors providing guidance throughout.
As part of the workshop, your child will assemble the ukulele and be introduced to simple care and maintenance, helping them look after the instrument when they bring it home.
Once the ukulele is ready, your child will be guided through the basics of ukulele playing, including how to read tabs, play simple chords, and practise their favourite songs. Song requests are welcome too, making the session more enjoyable and engaging for your child.
Learning highlights:
This workshop encourages creativity and self-expression as your child designs and paints their own ukulele, while also strengthening fine motor skills through painting and simple strumming. As your child begins to play, they are introduced to early music skills such as rhythm, coordination, and listening. The guided activities give your child a chance to slow down, focus, and work through each part at their own pace.
