About the experience:
Turn cake decorating into a little art project with VicBakery’s DIY Oil Painting Cake experience. In this hands-on cake painting session, you and your child can transform a 4-inch cake into an oil painting-inspired creation using colourful buttercream as your “paint”.
Begin by choosing from a selection of dreamy cake designs, or bring along your own inspiration. You’ll then learn how to apply different painting techniques directly onto the cake, with the team guiding you patiently through each step. No previous cake-decorating experience is needed, making this an easy and enjoyable creative activity for children and adults alike.
The experience is designed for 2–4 people to work on one cake together, making it a lovely activity for siblings, friends, or parents and children. Everyone can take part in creating the design, from mixing colours to adding the finishing touches.
Set in VicBakery’s warm and cosy café, this experience combines cake painting with a relaxed café outing, where you can enjoy a coffee or tea while spending creative time together.
Once the cake is completed, it will be carefully packaged for you to bring home and enjoy.

Learning highlights:
Explore colour mixing, painting techniques and different ways to create textures and details using buttercream. The activity also encourages creativity as they make choices about colours and design, while developing fine motor skills, hand control, focus and patience through cake painting. They’ll take home their own hand-painted 4-inch cake as a tangible result of their creative work.
